On “Counting Constellations,” the title track to Katelyn Kocher’s new album, she reflects upon one of her fondest memories of the past few years, an amazing night when she and her friends rode out to a cornfield in the outskirts of her hometown of Peoria, Illinois. There they lay underneath a star-filled sky and shared their dreams about the future. The imagery in her original song is the perfect metaphor for Katelyn’s development as an artist and a musical career that has grown rapidly in recent years.
Often dubbed a “country” Adele, Katelyn has created a dynamic and soulful hybrid style she calls “R&B/country, a modern pop twist to the country genre," an innovative style that developed as she grew up singing country, blues and contemporary jazz.
Katelyn has joined the masses of artists pursuing their dreams by making
the move to Nashville where she is proud to attend the prestigious Belmont University. She continues to focus on her development as an artist with leading artist development company PCG Universal-Nashville collaborating with some of the best songwriters and music industry professionals.
Performing since she was just four years old, Katelyn is no stranger to the stage. She currently performs regularly in Nashville as a member of the Opry Mills Unplugged cast of artists as well as part of songwriter series and open mic nights. When she’s in town, Katelyn loves treating the hometown audience to a high energy show that features both covers and original songs!
