Playing Catch-Up

I cringe a little when I open my blog page and see 6 unfinished blog posts...

The month of May was a bit overwhelming to say the least and I feel like I've been running behind ever since. So let's play a little catch-up and get back on track!

I'm writing from Santa Monica, California right now. I'm partially here for work and partially for some rest & relaxation. It's a perfect time to write and get caught up on a few things... although I hate that I'm missing so much awesome music at home in Peoria right now!

Songwriter: Jonathan David Eckberg Sponsor: Air & Water Medics PML Mardi Gras in May Stage

Mardi Gras in May was awesome. I had seven amazing performances, a great sound & lights team that stepped in at the last minute (Audio309 and Your Favorite DJ Entertainment) and six fantastic sponsors who were very helpful!

In fact, at one point I realized I didn't have enough change for our merch table and Sean Kenny (Owner of Kenny's Westside Pub) actually came down to the riverfront (in the middle of a very busy day for them) and brought me some $1 bills to help out!  It was much appreciated and that THANK YOU shout out was long overdue!

When businesses and venues sponsor projects through Peoria Music Live, they are helping make sure the music scene thrives in the Peoria area.

As more businesses step in to help support Peoria Music Live, we will start asking you to support them too. How can you do that? Well, it may mean you like their Facebook pages, participate in a contest, or choose to support a business you know supports live local music the next time you are deciding where to spend your hard-earned money.

The following sponsors are the first six we've had. You can already find Office on Main and Kenny's Westside Pub on our Supporting Venues page. You will soon find Air & Water Medics, I've Decided, EVB Audio, and Hire A Housewife on our Business Supporters page.

You can click the logos of any of these businesses to get to their Facebook page and like the page.

If you read the one post about my Summer Camp experience, you probably think I hated the whole weekend. I did not. While Summer Camp day two was even more overwhelming, I was able to find people I knew for days three and four... and that was all I needed.

Campfire Stage Sunday 11am at Summer Camp 18

Once I knew I had people at the festival and I knew where to find them, things started looking up. The music was amazing and the friends were awesome. None of the things people warned me about were actual concerns in the end and I'm looking forward to going into that weekend more prepared next year!

When I went to YouTube to find a SCAMP18 video to post here, I realized I had some that I had never made public. Chicago Farmer at Assembly Line Blues is one of them!

Here are a few pictures that I've taken over the last two months... I'm also working on uploading more videos to our YouTube channel from the last few months. If you haven't subscribed to that yet, check it out!

Thanks for checking out this post! I hope to have another one for you soon!
