Lauren Fitzanko
Lauren Fitzanko is a Central Illinois singer-songwriter whose alternative sound sits where jazz, folk, and indie rock meet. Her debut album This (2023) moves between intimate ballads and slow-burn grooves, with songs like “She Glows,” “Sparrow,” and “Bare Your Teeth” circling themes of growth and self-love.
In 2024, she followed up with the single “Spider & Fly,” further sharpening her blend of throwback jazz colors and modern indie sensibilities. On stage, Lauren’s sets are low-key as they include thoughtful writing, clean melodies, and arrangements that leave space for the lyrics. She’s become a regular presence at Central Illinois venues and events, including River City Pride Festival, Tres Rojas Winery’s songwriter series, Peoria Zoo’s Glow Wild, and the Peoria Music Live Takeover.
Offstage, she brings the same care for music and community into the classroom, teaching middle-school music after earning her Music Education degree from Eureka College.
