Lonesome Jones
Lonesome Jones is a country-folk-rock singer-songwriter working the bars, back rooms, and small stages of Central Illinois and the Quad Cities. Billed as a one-man band with guitar, voice and “machined drums,” he leans into an Americana mix, old-school country, folk, and rock with an outlaw streak.
Before going solo he fronted the outlaw country rock band Them Som’Bitches, formed in 2010 out of Rock Island, Iowa/Illinois. A self-taught player who jokes he “could’ve used a better teacher,” he spent roughly three decades as a roofer before shifting his focus toward music full time.
On record, Lonesome Jones writes, performs and produces his own material, including singles like “Country Music Cliché,” “Old Country Songs,” “Lost,” “Waitin’ For The Day,” and “Bad At Catchin’ Somethin’ Good,” released with accompanying videos and streaming releases in 2024–2025. His live calendar runs through rooms such as Oliver’s in the Heights, Corner Inn in Elmwood, Edward’s Tap in Kickapoo, Michael’s in Germantown Hills, and a long list of small-town taverns, benefits and open-mic nights across the region.
