For many people in Peoria’s music community, the building at 3300 Willow Knolls Road isn’t just a venue, it’s part of our history. Long before it was the 3300 Event Center, The Second Chance was a
legendary stage that welcomed everyone from touring rock icons to generations of Central Illinois bands. When Tricia Buskirk stepped in, she didn’t just reopen the venue, she cared for its history. She and Brian restored the room with so much respect that many musicians said the same thing when they walked in: it still felt like the Second Chance.
What made Tricia’s time there so special wasn’t just what she did with the building, it was how she treated people. Touring acts, longtime players, new local bands, and fans were all welcomed the same way. Under her care, the venue once again became a place where the community gathered and created new memories week after week, at concerts, fundraisers, celebrations of life, weddings, church services, parties, and more.
As the venue begins a new chapter, many of us hope the next owner sees how special this place is and continues to support the music community that loves filling the space there. As Tricia and her family begin their next chapter we just want to say thank you for everything, and we wish you the best.
