There was an amazing amount of music in the area last weekend!
We started out at the National Day of Play at the Glen Oak Park, where Harmonize Peoria shared information about our music programs, encouraged parents to get their kids involved, and helped the kids make their own shakers.
Shout out to Laura who is instrumental (no pun intended) in our outreaches at festivals and events like this! She even brought along a couple of volunteers as well. (We’re always thankful for volunteers!)
Safari Joe was stationed near us and entertained kids with learning songs about animals of all kinds.

Kids need music as much as adults - it facilitates learning, boosts memory, enhances language development, and supports emotional regulation. Music helps children (and adults) express themselves, build confidence, and connect with others, laying the foundation for lifelong creativity and critical thinking. It's not just art — it's a vital part of healthy development!
There is so much amazing live music in the Peoria area. Expose your kids to it, expose yourselves to it, and experience the magic of live music whenever you can.
Check out our photos and videos of Safari Joe, Boomstick, Jonny Quest, and Beat the Meatles from last weekend while you make your live music to-do list for this weekend.
