Last weekend’s lineup for us included Still Shine at Tower Park and White Taco and the PileDrivers at a private party in Eastport Marina. We’re also including some photos and videos of the final Garage Band Open Stage of the season, hosted by Colt Ball.
Trip & his dad dancing to Still Shine in Tower Park.
I LOVE seeing so many people out at Tower Park last Friday to listen and dance to Still Shine! There are so many smiling faces in the photos of this show. You can see some of them in the slideshow firther down this page, but this was a really fun one. Trip and his dad were dancing and the JOY on his face was so adorable, I had to go show them the photo!
(Hey, Trip’s dad - your FB message didn’t come through, so I don’t know where to send a copy of the picture!)
After that, I headed to a private birthday party at Eastport Marina where White Taco & the PileDrivers were cranking out tunes. As the sun dipped below the horizon and the city lights shimmered to life behind the band, I couldn’t help but think, “Now that’s a backdrop made for a party!” Their set was a lively mix of crowd favorites and originals, with an extra dash of suspense - Jeramiah’s drum stool was about a foot from the edge of the dock with no safety net in sight. Luckily he’s a pro, and managed to rock out without taking an unplanned swim.
Tuesday was Harmonize Peoria’s LAST Garage Band Open Stage of the season and it was spectacular. Colt Ball ended the season for us for the fourth year in a row and we were amazed by kids, teens, and adults before the night was over. Check out the video of Moses playing Thunderstruck.
We also introduced several of the players to our practice room. So now we’re working on putting together a program that involves young bands and musicians having access to free practice space for a limited number of hours a week! (Keep an eye on the Harmonize Peoria Facebook page for more on that in the future!)
Thank you to EVERYONE who came out, hosted, ran sound, helped carry instruments, and rearrange parking lot furniture for this event. We are looking forward to our FIFTH year next year!
There are more good things on the way, but I don’t add it to the total until it’s recieved. :-)
To learn more about this goal, you can click here to check out this blog post from May!
Here is the update on that $40,000 goal - After nearly 12 weeks, we are at $11,360.22!
While there are several ways to support us listed in the link under the thermometer picture here, there are two things I’d love to focus on right now…
Facebook Subscriptions - At $1/mo it is the most effective way for a little to go very far!
PML Takeover Support - Go ahead and get the 2025 PML Takeover at the 3300 Event Center on your calendar for October 19th! We should be ready to announce the line up and start sharing information about sponsorships on Sunday!
As you read through your options of where to go for live local music here, you may have a brief moment where you think maybe you’ll just stay in this weekend. Just remember:
You can download a video, but you can’t download a live music experience
