It might’ve been a cold and windy day on October 19th, but the energy inside and out of the 3300 Event Center was anything but chilly.
We had two great emcees on the main stage (Thanks to Becky McDaniel and Mallory Coons!), and I even got up when it was time to announce one of the big raffle winners!
So many of you showed up - and the bands showed out! From start to finish, the day was packed with incredible live music, laughter, and the kind of community connection that reminds us why we do this!
The volunteers absolutely rocked, handling everything from setup to ticket sales to making sure every guest and musician felt welcome. And the 3300 Event Center proved once again to be an amazing host for the Takeover, giving us space for three stages, fun activities, vendors, and hundreds of music lovers all in one place!
I’ve finally caught up, crunched all the numbers, and can proudly say that the 2nd Annual PML Takeover raised $4,131.15 for our ongoing work to support the work of Peoria Music Live and Harmonize Peoria! (A huge leap from last year’s $81.97! - That’s growth!)
50% of that, or $2,065.58 went to Harmonize Peoria to support their programs for making music accessible to those in the area under 21!
We’ve included some videos from the event below, and more are on the way! The acoustic stage videos will be coming soon, once we recover the missing microSD card or are able to get some video from an alternate source (I’m working on it, I promise!).
If you were part of this day, whether you played, volunteered, sponsored, or simply showed up to enjoy the music… THANK YOU! You’re helping build something special here in Peoria.
If you weren’t able to make it out to this year’s Takeover but still want to help us reach our overall $10,000 goal for the event, we’d love your support! You can find donation options in the box below. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us keep growing and bringing more live music to Peoria. And if you’d like to support our mission year-round, consider joining The Green Room, our monthly supporter community that helps keep local music alive all year long and gives you some other benefits as well.
Just like last year, I learned A LOT from this year’s event and am looking forward to putting that knowledge into action. Stay tuned for next year’s Takeover… because if this year is any indication, it’s only going to get bigger, better, and even more full of heart.
Now, here’s the list you’ve been waiting for… go get your live music to-do list for this weekend made!
