I was recovering from surgery last weekend but decided to mix some live music in with my resting up. The two shows I saw made getting out of the house more than worth it!
Every couple of months someone approaches me and tells me they’ve been talking to Nick Sizemore and he’ll be playing out soon, so it was exciting to see it was actually happening at Christy’s Place with Chad Hunziker on Friday. Rumor has it he’s planning to seek out more stage time at area venues, and I’m hoping that rumor is true! I’ll let you know when I know.
When I saw that the Stone Cold Cowboys were going to be at Pour Bros Craft Taproom for the Courtyard Concert Series, I knew I had to be there. Apparently, a lot of other people felt the same way because it was packed! I was only able to stay for one set, but it was a blast. There’s something incredible about a band that rolls up to eight musicians deep, with at least half of them taking the lead on different songs, that still manages to stay on brand and consistently wow the crowd. The audience doesn’t think twice when SCC switches it up, they just keep dancing.
I’ve also included a video of clips from this week’s Harmonize Peoria Garage Band Open Stage with PTCHWRK. We had more younger people than ever at this all-ages open stage, but I love how multiple musicians of all ages got to jam together, many for the first time!
Get your live music to-do list made while you look through the photos and the videos in this post, then grab a friend and go support live music… to keep our venues open and our artists playing, we have to go out and see them!
